The R/V PELICAN, a 116 ft. USCG designated Oceanographic Research Vessel, is the flagship of LUMCON’s fleet and is a member of the Universities National Oceanographic Laboratory System (UNOLS). The R/V PELICAN was designed and outfitted to conduct a variety of oceanographic research missions. The reliability, utility and seaworthiness of the vessel have been well demonstrated. The R/V PELICAN has successfully conducted scientific trawling, large box core sampling, thirty foot piston cores, shallow seismic surveys, current meter array and benthic boundary array deployment and recovery. ROV operations, plankton sampling, hydrographic casts with CTD-rosette systems and underway sampling with towed water sampling systems have also been successfully conducted. http://www.lumcon.edu/pelican/

LUMCON owns and operates the ROV COBIA, a Deep Ocean Engineering (DOE) Phantom HD2 survey class Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). The ROV can be leased independently or along with LUMCON’s vessels. http://www.rovcobia.com/
LUMCON operates numerous small vessels from a 38 ft. twin diesel catamaran to a 12 ft. “jon” boat for use offshore, in lakes, bays, and sounds of Louisiana.
