Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON) Vessel Operations Department operates a number of vessels available for research and educational programs to Consortium members, state and federal agencies, non-profit organizations and other oceanographic industries.

The R/V PELICAN, a 116 ft. USCG designated Oceanographic Research Vessel, is the flagship of LUMCON’s fleet and is a member of the Universities National Oceanographic Laboratory System (UNOLS). The R/V PELICAN was designed and outfitted to conduct a variety of oceanographic research missions.  The reliability, utility and seaworthiness of the vessel have been well demonstrated.  The R/V PELICAN has successfully conducted scientific trawling, large box core sampling, thirty foot piston cores, shallow seismic surveys, current meter array and benthic boundary array deployment and recovery.  ROV operations, plankton sampling, hydrographic casts with CTD-rosette systems and underway sampling with towed water sampling systems have also been successfully conducted. ** you don’t have permission to see this link **

The R/V ACADIANA is a 58 ft. USCG designated Oceanographic Research Vessel outfitted to support research activities in in the northern Gulf of Mexico region. ** you don’t have permission to see this link **

LUMCON owns and operates the ROV COBIA, a Deep Ocean Engineering (DOE) Phantom HD2 survey class Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). The ROV can be leased independently or along with LUMCON’s vessels. ** you don’t have permission to see this link **
