2016 Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill and Ecosystem Science Conference: Call for Abstracts is Now Open!
– August 6, 2015
The 2016 Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill and Ecosystem Science Conference is pleased to announce that the Call for Abstracts is now open!
This year’s theme, “One Gulf: healthy ecosystems, healthy communities,” will focus on opportunities to promote and sustain a healthy Gulf environment, communities, and economy, including new discoveries, innovations, technologies, and policies. A strong emphasis will be placed on the human dimensions of oil spill in addition to the ecosystem science research that has led past conferences.
The selected conference sessions aim to integrate oil spill and ecosystem science with restoration science by bringing together researchers from across disciplines. Each session will include scientific talks; papers not selected for oral presentations will be afforded an opportunity to participate in the poster session.
The deadline to submit an abstract is September 18, 2015. You do not need to be registered to submit an abstract. Registration will open in a few weeks.
The conference will also host a number of special meetings and workshops, including opportunities for graduate students. Many are currently under development so check the conference website for updates.
