Join the GRIIDC team! We are organizing and documenting data to promote a culture of open data and open science in the Gulf of Mexico. The Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative Information & Data Cooperative (GRIIDC) is a team of scientific researchers, data specialists, and software developers building a data management system to store, share, and archive scientific data generated by Gulf of Mexico researchers (https://data.gulfresearchinitiative.org/).
The research specialist, under general supervision, will review, organize, and document environmental chemistry data available through the GRIIDC data management system. Working with data managers and Gulf of Mexico scientists, you will ensure data are shared in appropriate formats with required documentation. You will provide insight and direction on data standards and best practices for sharing environmental chemistry, ecotoxicology, and analytical chemistry data. You will use your exceptional written and verbal communication skills to explain data sharing requirements to academic scientists to make sure data are preserved for future scientific discoveries.
GRIIDC is located at the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
